The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) provides loan facilities for professional certification programs under the "Professional and Industrial Credential Programme (KPTiP)" implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
This program focuses on competency training and professional certification based on expertise to enhance the value of graduates, aiming to increase their employability in higher education institutions, it also helps graduates secure salaries that match their educational qualifications while addressing the issue of (underemployment) Ultimately, this initiative encourages graduates to repay their PTPTN education loans more effectively.
The eligibility requirements for the KPTiP application are as follows:
- Third-year and final-year students at Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA).
- The program must be recognized by a Professional Body or the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- The program's funding for participants is based on a loan scheme provided by PTPTN, and
- Students who successfully complete the program and obtain a professional certification within the program duration will be eligible for a 50% discount, up to a maximum of RM5,000. However, students who fail to complete the program will be required to repay the full PTPTN loan amount.
