Introduction

The Loan Advance Payment (WPP) of RM1,500.00 is provided for student preparation before enrolling in IPTA and Polytechnic institutions.

The parents/ guardian/ student is a recipient of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR)

The student is offered full-time Diploma or Bachelor's Degree studies at IPTA and Polytechnics only

The student does not have any outstanding WPP debt

The WPP offer letter can be printed from the PTPTN Official Portal

The offer letter is valid for 2 months from the date of issuance

The WPP offer can only be redeemed by the student at any Bank Islam counter by bringing the following documents:

  • The WPP offer letter printed from the PTPTN Official Portal
  • The student's MyKad (Representative is not allowed)

WPP is a portion of the loan provided as an advance to students before enrolling in IPT. An automatic deduction of RM500.00 per semester from the total PTPTN loan amount will be made upon loan approval

The Loan Advance Payment (WPP) is an advance payment of RM1,500 provided to eligible students before they enroll in IPT

The conditions for WPP are:

  1. Students have agreed to receive WPP;

  2. The student is a Malaysian citizen;

  3. The parents/ guardian/ student is a recipient of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR);

  4. The student is offered a Diploma or Full-Time Bachelor's Degree level of study at IPTA and Polytechnic only;

  5. The student does not have any outstanding WPP debt

The application method is based on the confirmation of agreeing to receive WPP, which is made during the application for entry into an IPT, either through the UPU portal or the IPT.

The status can be checked on the PTPTN official portal (www.ptptn.gov.my). Notifications through SMS and email are also made based on the mobile phone number and email address updated during the application for entry into IPT.

WPP can be redeemed by the student at any Bank Islam counter by bringing the following documents:

  1. WPP offer letter printed from the PTPTN official portal (www.ptptn.gov.my);

  2. The student's MyKad (Representative is not allowed)

WPP can be redeemed within two (2) months from the date of the WPP offer letter.

Example :

  1. WPP Offer Letter Date: 27 August 2019.
  2. WPP Offer Letter Redemption Period: From 27 August 2019 to 27 October 2019.

No. Consideration for the provision of WPP is only given to guardians/ students who receive STR.

No. WPP is part of the loan given as an advance payment before students enroll in IPT. A deduction of RM500.00 per semester from the PTPTN loan amount will be made automatically when the loan is approved.

The situations that do not allow a student to repay the WPP are as follows:

  1. The student does not continue their studies in the offered IPT.
  2. The student does not continue their studies in the offered course.

If the WPP has been redeemed, the student is required to repay the amount that has been redeemed within eight (8) months from the end of the warrant period. A Ta'widh of 1% per annum will be imposed on the outstanding balance starting from the 9th month from the warrant expiration date.

The document that needs to be included if a student loses their MyKad is a temporary Identity Card issued by the National Registration Department (JPN).
