The Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV) Programme was introduced by the government as one of the measures to help the B40 group and also Malaysian Family Assistance (BKM) recipients. PTV is a voucher that can be redeemed by eligible recipients to obtain takaful protection for a year with plans under the Perlindungan Tenang programme.
On 1 January 2021, the PTV programme was introduced with a voucher value of RM50 and has been increased to RM75 from 1 January 2022. This voucher can be used to join the Perlindungan Tenang product or renew the existing Perlindungan Tenang plan.
This initiative is taken in line with the government's desire to expand the social safety net and ensure survival especially for the B40 group, in addition to low takaful participation among this target group.
Great Eastern Takaful Berhad (GETB) as one of the Takaful Operating Companies has responded to government's call by introducing a microtakaful product under the Perlindungan Tenang program, which is MikroSayang+. Recipients of PTV voucher can use the voucher to redeem MikroSayang+ takaful coverage for a year without any additional fees.
Here are the plan options offered:
- Plan A+ : Hospitalization Benefit of RM50/ day plus Death and Total and Permanent Disability benefit of RM5,000 - contribution of RM75 per year
- Plan B+ : Critical Illness Benefit of RM5,000 plus Death and Total and Permanent Disability benefit of RM5,000 – contribution of RM75 per year
Both plans above can be redeemed using RM7 PTV vouchers.
