Disbursement of Loan

Question 1:

What is the date of loan disbursement to students every semester?

 

Answer:

The loan is paid to students in batches every semester upon receiving confirmation from the IPT.

  


 

Question 2:

Will I continue to receive the loan if I defer my studies?

 

Answer:

The loan payment will be suspended from the semester you defer your studies. If you have received the payment for that semester, the loan payment will be stopped from the next semester. The loan payment for the following semesters will resume after confirmation has been obtained from the IPT.

  


 

Question 3:

Am I eligible again to obtain the loan which was stopped because my GPA was below 2.00?

 

Answer:

Not eligible. The arrears will not be paid if the loan was stopped owing to a GPA below 2.00.

  


 

Question 4:

Am I eligible for the remaining loan if I complete my studies earlier than the actual completion date?

 

Answer:

The loan is only for the duration of completion of studies, be it at an earlier date or the normal completion period. The repayment claim is based on the total loan you have received including administrative costs.

 

Question 5:

I obtained a GPA below 2.00 and managed to improve it during the short semester (semester break). Am I eligible for the loan which was terminated?

 

Answer:

Not eligible. The loan payment is based only on the GPA result of a normal semester.

  


 

Question 6:

Can the loan be paid into the account of the beneficiary of the student?

 

Answer:

No. The loan payment is credited only into the personal account of the student.

  


 

Question 7:

I have received the PTPTN loan and at the same time, I have also received a loan from another sponsor. Can I accept both loans to continue my studies?

 

Answer:

You have to choose only one sponsor. PTPTN reserves the right to terminate your loan immediately and claim from the other sponsor.

  


Question 8:

Can I continue with the loan if I wish to change course/programme of study in the IPT?

 

Answer:

You can be considered to continue the loan if the change of course/programme of study does not require you to repeat semesters and you have obtained approval from the IPT.
